Oslo District Court has sentenced Marius Borg Høiby to four years' imprisonment. Høiby is the son of Crown Princess Mette-Marit, the wife of Norway's Crown Prince Haakon. The man was found guilty of several serious crimes against women.

The court found him guilty of two counts of rape, abuse of his ex-partner Nora Haukland, violence against another of the injured women, threats, harassment or reckless behaviour, and a breach of the road traffic act.

In addition to the prison sentence, the court has imposed a two-year contact ban against one of the injured women on Høiby. He has also been sentenced to pay compensation to four women.

Høiby was acquitted on four counts in the indictment, including two allegations of sexual assault.

The judgment was delivered in his absence. He did not appear in court due to illness and followed the sentence via remote connection. The prosecution had requested seven years and seven months' imprisonment.
