Oslo district court has set 08:30 on Monday morning to deliver the verdict against Marius Borg Høiby. The 29-year-old will not sit in the courtroom himself; for medical reasons, he will follow proceedings from Ila prison via a video screen.
Høiby's defence counsel, Petar Sekulic, commented on the situation shortly before the court hearing began.
"We expect a thorough verdict. We hope for the best possible outcome," Sekulic told journalists outside the courthouse, according to Adressa.
The lawyer added that his client is going through a very difficult time at present, not least due to his mother's state of health.
The prosecutor in the case, State Counsel Sturla Henriksbø, has demanded seven years and seven months behind bars. The indictment against Høiby contains 40 counts. The majority concern threatening behaviour, assault and threats. The four most serious counts relate to rape while sleeping against four different women. Høiby has admitted to some of what he is charged with, but denies the most serious counts.
The court hearing at which the prosecutor summed up his case was concluded on 18 March.
