Oslo District Court has sentenced the 29-year-old stepson of Norway's Crown Prince couple to four years' imprisonment for two rapes and assault. He was acquitted on two other rape charges.

Oslo District Court has sentenced Marius Borg Høiby to four years' imprisonment for two rapes and assault. The verdict was unanimous, according to Norwegian media outlets VG and TV2.
The 29-year-old Høiby was charged with four rapes where the victims were allegedly asleep, committed during the period 2018–2024. The court found it proven beyond reasonable doubt that the woman was asleep during the incident at Skaugum, the Crown Prince couple's official residence, in 2018. Høiby had filmed the assault with his mobile phone, and the video was shown in court.
Judge Jon Sverdrup Efjestad stated, according to TV2, that the victim's position was such that she showed no reaction to touch or stimulation. There were neither sounds nor movements indicating that she was awake.
The court acquitted Høiby of two other rape charges, which concerned alleged acts on Lofoten and at a hotel in Oslo. Høiby denied criminal liability on all four charges.
He was also sentenced for assault against Nora Haukland. Høiby was not present when the verdict was read out. He has been in custody since February.
Both Høiby and the prosecution may appeal the verdict, which is therefore not final.
