Police were called to Tiller in Trondheim in the early hours of Monday following a confrontation between two men who live near each other. One of them is alleged to have placed a chokehold around the other's neck and threatened to kill him.
The two men involved are in their 40s and 50s. After apparently assessing the extent of any injuries, police found it unnecessary to call medical personnel.
The authorities instructed both men to avoid contact with each other until Tuesday morning. A criminal case will be opened in connection with assault and threats.
