A police officer in the Western Police District is charged with repeated abuse of his female partner, as well as with having influenced her statement in the case.

An official in the Western Police District has now been brought to court on allegations of repeated violence against his partner, NRK reports with reference to Bergens Tidende.
The defendant is alleged to have subjected his female partner to physical and psychological violence over several months. He is also accused of having attempted to alter her statement to the police during the investigation.
"My client has lived under threats and abuse for a long time. This is a very serious case," states her defence lawyer, Tore Johan Sørland.
The case dates back to autumn 2024, when the man was suspended and arrested. His partner then stood as the injured party. Some of the charges concerned breach of a contact ban, but these have now been dropped.
In spring 2025 the investigation was temporarily shelved, and the employee was allowed to resume work. In June he was nevertheless arrested again, this time for partner violence. To ensure objectivity, the case was transferred to another district.
