Search resumed for missing woman at Vardåsen
Police, volunteer organisations, police dogs and a helicopter resume on Monday the search for a missing woman in Asker, reports budstikka.no. The operation is centred on Vardåsen.
– Police officers, a police dog, a police helicopter and personnel from volunteer organisations will be deployed, writes operations leader Alexander Østerhaug in the Police Log according to the police operations centre.
The woman is in her late 30s and is from the Hvalstad area. She is believed to be wearing a peach-coloured padded jacket and is 164 centimetres tall.
The search was initiated on Sunday at approximately 15:00. On Sunday evening at around 20:00, the search had to be suspended.
– It is quite simply because we assess it as too dangerous for the search personnel to search in the area in question, explained Østerhaug.
Police ask that 112 be called if the woman is directly observed, while tips can be reported on 02800.
Although the search so far has concentrated on Asker, police do not rule out that the woman is located elsewhere. All of Asker and Bærum as well as the Drammen area are considered relevant search areas, police have previously informed budstikka.no.
