Marius Borg Høiby, the son of Norway's Crown Princess Mette-Marit, has been released by the court. This comes while he awaits an appeals court hearing in his case.
Høiby was required to appear in court from the beginning of February to the middle of March. He was charged with a total of 40 offences. Among the accusations were allegations of rape of four women. He was also charged with assault against a former girlfriend.
The verdict in the case is to be announced on 15 June. The prosecution has sought a sentence of seven years and seven months' imprisonment. Høiby's defence has instead requested acquittal on the rape charges.
