Three men charged after drug arrest in Trondheim

Police in Trondheim arrested three men on Monday after witnessing a drug sale, reports nrk.no. Following the arrests, a two-digit number of kilos of cannabis was seized.

"We witnessed a sale and a transfer of a larger quantity of drugs in Trondheim," police prosecutor John Ronny Sødahl Furunes told Adresseavisen.

Police first arrested a man in his 30s, resident in Trondheim, whom they believe is the buyer. The alleged seller, a man in his 20s, was then arrested. As the third, a man in his 40s was arrested, suspected of storing a larger quantity of cannabis.

All three are charged with serious drug offence, with a sentence frame of up to ten years' imprisonment.

The lawyer for the alleged seller told Adresseavisen that his client does not admit guilt. The defence counsel for the man charged with storage says his client has explained himself to police and set out his position. The third defence lawyer the newspaper had not managed to make contact with.
