A person was injured in the face at Grønland Underground Station in Oslo on Sunday afternoon. Police deployed with substantial resources following a report of the incident.
The report came in to police at 15:18. According to operations manager Line-Merethe Skott speaking to NRK, the initial report was that someone had been stabbed with a knife at the station.
Several patrol units were sent to the scene. They subsequently found the injured person, who had injuries to the face. Upon closer examination, it became apparent that no sharp implement had been used in the attack.
Incident commander Tonje Brandrud told NRK that there was blood at the scene. The injured person was taken to hospital with head injuries. The person was conscious, and police wished to conduct an interview as soon as possible.
Police launched a search for a suspect with several officers deployed. The search was concluded at 16:34. The case now continues in the investigative phase.
According to police, there is video footage showing parts of what happened. It is likely that there was an altercation between the parties before the violence broke out.
Police state that there is no danger to the public.
