Man threw drugs in front of police officers — 42-year-old from Kluczbork detained

Detention during night shift

During a night patrol by Kluczbork investigators, their attention was drawn to a man waving his arms near the road who was nervously looking around. When police officers approached in an unmarked patrol car, the man signalled to them that they could continue. When the officers introduced themselves, the 42-year-old immediately threw the package he was holding onto a nearby property.

False explanations

The man initially claimed he had thrown away only a "roach" — according to his account, a remnant from previous marijuana use. He added that he did not want to have problems and would like to end the conversation. However, Opole police report that officers did not believe his explanations.

Secured substances

Officers found the discarded package, in which they discovered 200 portions of amphetamine and marijuana. The substances were secured for laboratory testing, and the man was detained. He was charged with drug possession, which carries a sentence of up to three years imprisonment. The final decision in the case will be made by the court.
