Jamaican winner of MrBeast challenge arrested in Asunción with 262 kg of drugs
Jabari Stephen Brown, winner of MrBeast's pilot challenge, was arrested in Paraguay after 262 kg of hashish and cannabis were found in his private jet.
MrBeast pilot contest winner detained in Asunción
Jabari Stephen Brown, a 21-year-old Jamaican citizen known on social media as "Captain Trezzy", was detained on Saturday, 30 May in Asunción, after agents from Paraguay's National Anti-Drugs Secretariat (SENAD) found approximately 262 kilogrammes of hashish and cannabis concealed in bags inside a private jet. Brown gained prominence in late 2025 after winning the "100 pilots fight for a private jet" challenge, organised by popular American YouTuber MrBeast. In that competition, which brought together hundreds of pilots, Brown overcame physical and skill challenges—including skydiving and exposure to strong winds—and won an executive aircraft valued at approximately 2.4 million dollars after selecting the briefcase with the "golden ticket".
The flight and the discovery
The aircraft departed from Miami and made a stopover in Panama before landing on Saturday night at Silvio Pettirossi International Airport in Asunción. On board were Brown in the capacity of co-pilot, pilot Keith Siilats—a 47-year-old Estonian citizen identified as a technology entrepreneur and co-founder of the micromobility company Bolt Mobility in the United States—and three other passengers.
The day after landing, one of the passengers returned to the airport terminal under the pretext of collecting a forgotten suitcase. Upon refusing a routine inspection and displaying suspicious behaviour, security agents called SENAD officers, who detected the illicit substances hidden inside the aircraft.
Brown was apprehended at a hotel in Asunción. SENAD also detained three other people, who were transferred to the Public Ministry to give their statements.
The pilot fled the country
Siilats, owner of the seized aircraft, reportedly left Paraguay on a commercial flight before being detained, according to information from AP. Anti-drugs prosecutor Ingrid Cubilla confirmed that Siilats remains subject to an arrest warrant.
SENAD classified the operation as part of the Hummingbird Programme and detailed on social media the detention of three American citizens linked to the case. Authorities estimate that the actual destination of the shipment was Brazil.
Brown released pending hearing
The Prosecutor's Office ordered the release of Jabari Brown whilst the degree of his participation in the transport of drugs aboard the aircraft is determined. According to local media, Brown must face a hearing on 4 June in relation to the case.
