A 27-year-old officer was captured on a Chaco route driving a Toyota Hilux that had been reported as stolen from the same police station where he worked.

Officers from the Río Verde police station in Presidente Hayes detained a uniformed 27-year-old man who was driving a pickup truck with an active seizure order.
The driver, Pedro Ramón Villamayor, carried out duties at police unit number 10 in the capital. Notably, a complaint regarding the theft of the vehicle had been filed from that same station on 13 February.
The incident took place during a routine traffic stop on the road to Boquerón. Officers asked the man for the vehicle's documentation, a black Toyota Hilux with licence plate WHCY 818. Unable to prove ownership, the officers verified in the system that the vehicle had a capture warrant.
Following verification, Villamayor was placed under arrest and the pickup truck was retained as evidence.
The regional prosecutor, Dr Enrique Díaz, was notified of the case and ordered the relevant legal proceedings.
This incident comes just one week after another of similar characteristics in the same jurisdiction. On 26 February, a 35-year-old sub-inspector from the Horqueta police station was intercepted with a 2022 Toyota Fortuner that possessed a forged licence plate. The actual chassis number was not registered anywhere. Both occupants of the vehicle were detained by order of the same Public Ministry representative.
