A child of Chilean nationality was found at the bus terminal in Resistencia, Argentina, after being removed from Paraguayan territory by her father without judicial authorisation. The man was arrested.
The Paraguayan police unit specialising in abductions requested assistance from their Argentine counterparts to locate the child. Officers from Formosa traced the father's whereabouts but were unable to apprehend him in that jurisdiction because he had already moved to another location.
Following an order from the Ministry of Security, agents from Chaco Province activated corresponding alerts. After an operational deployment, at around one o'clock in the afternoon, they located the child accompanied by her father. The man was immediately arrested.
Both remain in the custody of the authorities while they await decisions from the relevant agencies.
