Security personnel from the Argentine province of Chaco located a girl of Chilean origin at the Resistencia bus station. The minor had been removed from the neighbouring country by her father, despite there being no judicial authorisation that would have permitted such a transfer.
The abduction specialist unit of the Paraguayan police force had made requests for assistance from their Argentine counterparts. Thanks to this joint work, it was possible to establish that the girl was unharmed.
Previously, uniformed officers from the province of Formosa had managed to track down the father, however they were unable to apprehend him in that territory, as the individual had already departed to another location.
Under instructions from the Chaco Ministry of Security, local agents activated search mechanisms. Following an extensive deployment, around one o'clock in the afternoon on the day in question, they located the minor alongside the man, who was placed under arrest immediately.
At the present time, the girl and her father are being held under the supervision of the authorities, pending the decisions that correspond.
