During Saturday, officers from the National Police carried out multiple operations in the country's capital and in the Central department, resulting in the capture of eight individuals linked to different criminal acts. The information was reported by ABC Color.
In the city of Luque, agents from the unit tasked with investigating offences, with support from the local third police station, surprised two men in the midst of an armed robbery. They are a 21-year-old young man from Argentina named Elías Ignacio Domínguez, and a minor aged 17. A firearm, cash, jewellery and mobile devices that they had taken from their victims were seized from both.
In the metropolitan area of Asunción, personnel from the seventh police station arrested Juan Antonio Caballero, a 28-year-old man, in the Vista Alegre neighbourhood. He is identified as the perpetrator of the theft of a smart television, which was returned to its owner. The detainee had previously faced justice.
Another case occurred in the Tacumbú neighbourhood, where the second police station in the capital apprehended Iván Arturo Villalba Amarilla, 24 years old, accused of theft. This man has a criminal record that includes charges for intentional murder and aggravated robbery. During the search, a hydraulic jack and various tools that had been reported as stolen were found.
On the other hand, the motorised unit for special operations known as Lince detained Pedro Danilo Gayoso Castillo, 35 years old, in Asunción, as there was an active judicial order against him for alleged theft. In Lambaré, officers from the fifteenth police station caught Lucas Alexander Garay Duarte, 18 years old, in the act of committing a robbery. Thanks to this intervention, a Taiga motorcycle was recovered.
With regard to cases of violence in the family sphere, Carlos Daniel Elizalde Jara, 33 years old, was taken into custody in Capiata by members of the unit dedicated to protecting victims of domestic violence, dependent on the thirty-second police station. In Aregua, the eighteenth police station captured Angel Amado Cristaldo Riveros, 25 years old, in the San Roque neighbourhood for the same reason. Likewise, in Capiata, the eighth police station detained Alexis Matías Torres Villalba, also 25 years old, who was sought by authorities due to an arrest warrant for alleged domestic abuse.
The procedures are part of the patrols and checks carried out by the public force in different areas of the country to combat insecurity and violence in the home.
