According to Google News RO — Crime (ro), a 23-year-old prison police officer was detained by DIICOT for trafficking in high-risk drugs, after being caught in the locality of Cataloi transporting significant quantities of prohibited substances for the purpose of sale.
At the moment of identification by authorities, the man had 200 grammes of cannabis on him. Prosecutors established that he had been engaged in drug trafficking since October 2023, selling the substances at a price of 40 lei per gramme.
Following his detention, a home search warrant was executed. "From the suspect's residence, approximately 190 grammes of high-risk drug (cannabis), further doses of substance undergoing expert analysis, a grinder, objects bearing traces of substance, and other evidence, were seized," police stated.
A criminal file was opened against the officer for trafficking in high-risk drugs. The suspect is currently in preventive custody for 30 days.
