Google News RO — Crime (ro) reports that a 54-year-old man from Cenade commune, Alba county, has been remanded in custody for 30 days after allegedly assaulting his son, according to representatives of the Alba County Police Inspectorate (IPJ).
The incident occurred on Thursday, 21 August 2026, at approximately 17.30, at the shared residence of the father and his son, aged 20. According to police investigations, against a backdrop of alcohol consumption and heated discussions, the man allegedly struck his son with a blunt object in the back of the head, causing him bodily injuries.
Following an assessment of the situation, a risk evaluation form was completed, which indicated the existence of an imminent risk. The authorities issued a provisional protection order for a period of five days, according to a press statement transmitted by the Alba IPJ.
On 22 August, the judge for rights and liberties at Blaj Court ordered the man's remand in custody for 30 days.
Police continue their investigations under the coordination of the Prosecutor's Office attached to Blaj Court, with a view to establishing the full circumstances in which the incident occurred.
