Florin Galiș, AUR county councillor in Arad and member of the party's county leadership, was brought in for questioning on Tuesday, 3 November, in a case involving money laundering and forgery in private documents. Investigators confiscated a luxury vehicle, a Maserati. The case concerns a financial scheme through which approximately €2.9 million was allegedly obtained illegally.

According to Cotidianul.ro, the operation was carried out by police and prosecutors from Arad as part of "Operation Jupiter", coordinated at national level by the Office of the Prosecutor General attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice. In the field, investigators executed 14 home search warrants and seven arrest warrants.

Investment scheme conducted in several European countries

According to the Office of the Prosecutor General attached to the Arad Court, the suspects allegedly devised a criminal investment scheme, carried out between May and July 2025, in several European states. The illegally obtained money was subsequently transferred through multiple bank accounts to hide its origin.

Part of the sums passed through accounts of an association from Arad, from where the funds allegedly reached entities in the United Kingdom, Austria, China and Denmark. Investigations are aimed at establishing the exact route of the money and the role of each person involved.

Images of the seized SUV were broadcast by Antena 3 CNN, which reported on the operation. Special Arad noted that journalists attempted to obtain a statement from Galiș, but he did not respond to telephone calls.
