Criminal file for rape in Pantelimon: police officer left shift, found in grave condition

Judicial sources stated exclusively for Gândul that an officer of Pantelimon City Police filed a complaint claiming he was the victim of rape at the end of September after abandoning his post during a night shift. Ilfov police opened a criminal file, but no one has been detained to date.

The 22-year-old took an unmarked vehicle from the institution's yard and travelled to the Hils residential complex, where he allegedly attended a party organised in an apartment. The officer allegedly had his service weapon on him throughout this time.

Overdose and father's intervention

Reported missing by his father — who knew his son was a drug user and had installed a location tracking application on his phone — the officer was found collapsed in front of a building in the Hils complex. The vehicle with Interior Ministry plates was parked nearby. Ambulance Service personnel took him and transported him to hospital, where it was allegedly established that he had taken an overdose of a substance known as "angel dust", an anaesthetic used in medicine, considered particularly dangerous.

At the time of intervention, the officer allegedly wore civilian clothes.

What investigation sources claim

According to sources cited by Gândul, investigations allegedly established that the officer had accessed, during his shift, an application intended for the LGBT community and had made contact with several men who were at the party in the apartment. The officer allegedly later explained to colleagues that he had been drugged at that party.

When he allegedly tried to leave, the three men present in the accommodation asked him to pay for sexual services valued at 3,000 lei. Since he allegedly refused to pay the sum, they allegedly raped him as punishment — according to the same investigation sources.

Criminal file opened, internal investigation under way

According to investigators, following the complaint filed by the police officer, a criminal file was opened for rape. At the time of publication, no detention had been carried out. Simultaneously, an internal investigation was also launched at Pantelimon City Police, a check which is not yet completed.

Gândul sources stated that the same non-commissioned officer had been previously involved in an internal incident following a conflict with his former partner, an employee of Voluntari Police. The leadership of Ilfov Police Inspectorate allegedly called the two in and drew their attention to the fact that activity in Police structures requires disciplined behaviour.
