Magistrates in Iași have decided to send a 36-year-old individual to face judges, accused of killing a woman in his own flat. The suspect remains in custody, and the case has been placed on the roll of the Tribunal, according to News.ro.

Prosecutors contend that everything took place on 24 May 2026. The man, with the initials P.D.C., allegedly planned in advance to eliminate the victim, a woman with the initials F.V. He is said to have contacted her by telephone, inventing an emergency situation at her home and asking her to come and help him.

Once she arrived at the address, the woman was subjected to an ordeal. The individual allegedly hit her with his fists to the head and face, then stabbed her twice in the chest and abdomen area. In the state of unconsciousness and helplessness she was in, the victim was also raped. The injuries she sustained caused her death.

After committing the atrocities, the assailant allegedly stole her mobile telephone. Moreover, he is said to have gained unauthorised access to the victim's social media account and sent messages to her son, claiming to be the woman herself.

The investigation was coordinated by prosecutors from the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Iași Tribunal, with the assistance of police officers from the Criminal Investigation Service. The file has already been submitted to court for trial.
