A criminal group made up of seven people was broken up in the Boșorod area, according to mai.gov.ro. Two of the members were detained in flagrante delicto whilst in possession of 170 grammes of cocaine, which they intended to sell for a sum of 12,000 euros.
Police Chief Commissioner Bogdan Ghebaur stated that among the members of the group was also a young woman of 17 years old, who served in the role of intermediary. "Drugs are reaching ever younger ages not only for consumption, but, as is the case here, in the position of traffickers," Ghebaur emphasised.
The network was structured with two main traffickers and several couriers recruited to transport the forbidden substances, some of them receiving tens of thousands of euros for the activities they carried out.
During the operation, six residential searches were conducted, following which investigators seized additional quantities of cocaine and cannabis, as well as several sums of cash.
Preventive measures were imposed against the persons involved, with the investigation to follow in order to establish the entire criminal activity of the group. The file remains under investigation, and the amount of the sentences is to be determined by the court.
