Fresh charges filed in Romania against Andrew and Tristan Tate for exploitation of women
Romania's prosecution authority DIICOT has filed a second indictment against the Tate brothers. They face allegations of human trafficking, rape, and exploitation of minors.
Second indictment in Bucharest against Tate brothers
The Romanian prosecution authority has made a fresh attempt to bring the British-American brothers Andrew and Tristan Tate before the courts. According to ORF, the authority responsible for organised crime, DIICOT, submitted a revised indictment to the court in Bucharest. An initial indictment was dismissed in 2024 due to procedural errors.
The brothers are accused of systematically forcing women to participate in pornographic videos and video chats. The prosecution authority also alleges rape, human trafficking, and money laundering. New to the indictment: the alleged exploitation of two 15-year-old girls, who are said to have been emotionally blackmailed and physically abused. The brothers are alleged to have made USD 1.2 million in this manner.
Andrew and Tristan Tate are currently in custody in the United States, where a court is deciding on a British extradition request — criminal proceedings against them are also underway in the United Kingdom. Both deny all charges and are contesting extradition.
