A 28-year-old man and his 29-year-old wife from Neamț county were held on Monday, accused of sexually assaulting their own minor children, according to G4Media, which cites Agerpres. The Neamț County Police Inspectorate (IPJ) confirmed the couple's detention.
The two spouses face charges of domestic violence in continued form, rape committed against a minor in continued form, sexual corruption of minors in continued form, determining or facilitating the perpetration of sexual acts or acts of a sexual nature between minors, as well as ill-treatment inflicted on the minor.
"Investigations are being conducted into the commission of offences of domestic violence, in continued form, rape committed against a minor, in continued form, sexual corruption of minors, in continued form, determining or facilitating the perpetration of sexual acts or acts of a sexual nature between minors, in continued form and ill-treatment inflicted on the minor," said Ramona Ciofu, spokesperson for the Neamț IPJ.
A search was carried out at the home of the two suspects. The suspects were held for 24 hours and are to be presented to the court with a proposal for preventive arrest.
The action was conducted as part of operation "JUPITER", coordinated by the Prosecutor's Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice and the General Police Inspectorate of Romania. Police officers from the Neamț Criminal Investigation Service participated in the investigation.
