Scandal at Brașov maternity unit: seven suspects fleeing, two police officers injured
Seven people fled from police following a conflict that broke out outside the maternity unit in Brașov. Two officers were injured to the head, and all suspects were caught and taken for questioning.

Seven suspects — five men and two women — fled from police forces through the streets of central Brașov after injuring two police officers outside the city's maternity unit, stirileprotv.ro reports.
The incident began when the group attempted to visit a ward in the maternity unit, despite visiting hours having ended. Police officers present at the scene say that some of the suspects had consumed alcohol and had entered into conflict with hospital security personnel.
A witness who called 112 stated: "They caused a scandal at the Brașov maternity unit, the police tried to stop them."
Before officers could intervene effectively, all seven got into the car they had arrived in and left. Several police units began pursuing them through the streets of the city centre, and the vehicle was located and stopped within minutes.
A PRO TV correspondent reported from the scene: "At this location the car with the aggressors was stopped, and at the place where investigations are currently being conducted, the two police officers were struck in the altercation."
A woman present at the incident described the violence: "He hit one person there and he fell, and the other one, he hit him here and he was covered in blood. The police of course ran after them and they after the police!"
Daniel Zontea, spokesman for Brașov Police, confirmed that after the vehicle was stopped, the suspects dispersed in the area. One of the individuals was immediately immobilised by officers, but the other five fled on foot through the crowd of tourists, attempting to evade pursuit. Dozens of police officers and gendarmes launched a fresh pursuit.
"I think they fled, they managed to escape and hid in this building, in this area. The gendarmes came after them," said another witness to the events.
Two of the identified fugitives were found in the courtyard of a nearby building. The driver of the van with which the group had arrived was arrested a few streets away. All seven were taken to police headquarters for questioning.
The two injured officers, struck to the head, received medical care at hospital, but did not require admission.
