Adam stood naked on a hill for several hours whilst blows rained down on him. It was the punishment for having stopped selling drugs for the criminal gang.

In six months, he has been attacked four times since he left the criminal network. His mother is now speaking about the constant fear the family lives in.

Many who try to break with their criminal past are subjected to threats and violence. In some cases, people have even been killed when attempting to leave the gang environment.
