Örebro District Court has rejected Anders Eklund's application to set a term for his life sentence for the double murder of Engla Höglund and Pernilla Hellgren.

Örebro District Court has rejected an application to set a term for Anders Eklund's life sentence. The court assesses that the risk of him committing new serious crimes is both real and significant, according to SVT Dalarna.
Eklund, who now uses a different surname, was convicted in 2008 of having killed Engla Höglund, ten years old, in Stjärnsund in Dalarna in spring 2008. He was also convicted of the murder of Pernilla Hellgren, 31 years old, outside Falun in summer 2000.
The ruling means that he must continue to remain imprisoned for life without having his sentence converted to a fixed-term sentence.
