Fraudster tricked 80-year-old out of tens of thousands of kronor in Skillingaryd
An eighty-year-old man in Skillingaryd lost between 10,000 and 30,000 kronor after clicking on a link he received via social media. A relative of the man alerted police at around 5 p.m.
The money disappeared from the man's account through Swish transfers. On Thursday evening, police visited the man's home to question him about the incident.
– This concerns a man in his 80s, according to Olle Älveroth, spokesperson for the Eastern Police Region.
A report of aggravated fraud has been filed. Police have not yet arrested any suspect in the matter.
