One person is acquitted entirely and three are sentenced to short prison sentences or conditional sentences in the case of vodka cars with counterfeit alcohol that made young people ill in Stockholm. The prosecutor is to appeal the verdict.

In autumn 2024, a number of young people in the Stockholm region became seriously intoxicated after drinking illegal spirits purchased from so-called vodka cars. The case led to trial against four suspects.
The prosecutor had requested sentences of between 24 and 32 months in prison, with permanent entry bans as an additional penalty for those involved. The district court has now issued its verdict.
One of the four suspects is acquitted of all charges. Two others are sentenced to shorter prison sentences of one and three months respectively. The final person receives a conditional sentence.
A representative from the Office of the Prosecutor General has indicated that the verdict is to be reviewed at a higher instance, according to Svenska Dagbladet.
