A young man was arrested on Saturday evening at Brännbollsyran in Umeå. He is suspected of rape, reports Expressen.
The festival, which is combined with Brännbollscupen, draws thousands of visitors to the city every year. Police have been unwilling to comment on details of the incident in question.
"A young man has been arrested," says press spokesperson Marie Andersson.
The man is to be questioned once he is sober. During the evening, several other people were also taken into custody for intoxication, and reports were filed for petty theft, assault, and unlawful threats.
