Man shot in Jordbro south of Stockholm – attempted murder being investigated
A person was shot in Jordbro south of Stockholm on Wednesday evening. Police have opened a preliminary investigation into attempted murder.
Shooting at commuter train station in Jordbro
A person was shot on Wednesday evening in Jordbro, south of Stockholm, according to Aftonbladet. The incident occurred in a car park near the commuter train station, an area where there were many people at the time, according to police.
Several witnesses called in reports of loud bangs before it became clear that a person had been shot. The injured person was conscious and able to communicate when the ambulance took him to hospital.
– This has happened near the commuter train station and there have been many people around, says Carina Skagerlind, police spokesperson in Stockholm.
Police are still searching for the perpetrator. A number of people have been questioned in connection with the search. The crime scene is cordoned off and a technical investigation is planned.
– We have spoken to several people and are currently conducting door-to-door enquiries in the area, Skagerlind states.
Police also point out that there are security cameras in the area which may have recorded the incident.
A preliminary investigation into attempted murder has been opened, confirms Carina Skagerlind.
