A person was shot at an outdoor car park in Jordbro in Haninge, outside Stockholm, on Tuesday evening. This is reported by Expressen.

Police received calls about shots fired at 18.42. On arrival, officers established that a person had been hit by gunfire. The injured person was taken to hospital by ambulance and was reported to be conscious and responsive at the time.

– This is a car park in a residential area that is close to the commuter rail station. Many people have witnessed this incident, says Carina Skagerlind, police spokesperson for Stockholm.

Police have not disclosed the victim's gender or age. The car park has been cordoned off and several people have been questioned, but no arrests had been made at the time of reporting.

– We will have to see what that leads to. It has not led to any arrest as far as I know, says Skagerlind.

Police are working at the scene to secure technical evidence and witness interviews are ongoing. CCTV footage in the area is being actively used in the investigation.

– Jordbro is an area where we have many cameras, so our skilled camera operators are working hard to help us. We have a good situational picture, says Skagerlind.

The incident is being investigated as attempted murder.
