A wealthy man in his sixties from the Stockholm region orchestrated a prolonged persecution of an elderly man in the Skåne countryside. The background was a romantic relationship that ended three decades ago, in which the person who ordered the attacks still harboured jealousy.
The person who ordered the attacks gave instructions for serious violence. The individuals sent to carry out the crimes used a knife, arson and also planned to attack the victim with caustic acid.
Police were able to arrest the perpetrators. To uncover who was behind the order, police used an infiltrator who responded to an advertisement in which violent assignments were offered.
The investigation revealed that a 33-year-old man from Malmö, with a history of crime, could be linked to an incendiary bomb attack that took place in the summer of 2025. He was convicted in court the following year and sentenced to protective supervision and compulsory care.
