Police officer hit by quad bike at Landvetter airport – suspect sought

A police officer was injured when a quad bike driver hit him at Landvetter airport on Sunday. The suspected perpetrator later approached police of his own accord.

A police officer was injured on Sunday afternoon after being hit by a quad bike driver outside McDonald's at Landvetter airport, according to SVT Nyheter.

The incident occurred at 16:21 when police conducted a check of four quad bike drivers at the location. During the check, a disturbance broke out, and one of the drivers then hit the police officer before fleeing. The officer sustained minor injuries in the form of grazes and minor bleeding.

One of the four drivers was arrested at the scene, but the duty commander states that it is likely not the same person who hit the police officer.

– I believe we have fairly good chances of apprehending the right person, says the police duty commander Morten Gunneng.

Based on surveillance footage and witness statements, police assess the investigation situation as positive. The case is being investigated as assault on a public official.

During Sunday evening, the suspected man approached police on his own initiative.
