Police brought down unarmed man with knife-like object in Stockholm city centre
Shortly after nine o'clock on Wednesday morning, a police patrol was called to Klarabergsgatan in central Stockholm. A man without clothes on his body was seen carrying a sharp object.
The patrol intervened immediately. To stop the man, a Taser was used. He was disarmed, handcuffed and subsequently taken to hospital for examination.
According to police spokesperson Daniel Wikdahl, whom Expressen quotes, the man has expressed himself in a way that has been difficult to interpret. Why he acted as he did remains unknown.
Aftonbladet reports that the arrest required a large number of police officers and that part of the street was cordoned off for an hour. The man is now being held in custody, suspected of gross violation of the knife laws.
