Shooting in Jordbro – one person injured
Police received a call at 18.42 on Tuesday evening after several people heard loud bangs at a car park in Jordbro. When police patrols arrived at the scene, they found a person with gunshot wounds.
The injured person was conscious and was able to speak with emergency personnel before being taken to hospital, according to police information. The scene, an outdoor car park, was cordoned off for technical investigation.
Authorities deployed substantial resources to trace the person or persons who fired the shots. Several people were checked during the evening, but by midnight no detention measures had been taken.
Police stated on their website that a significant number of witness interviews had been conducted, but that no further information could be provided with reference to the ongoing preliminary investigation.
"We are at a sensitive stage of the investigation and cannot go into details right now," explained police spokesperson Per Fahlström on Wednesday morning. He also declined to comment on the injured person's condition.
The offence is classified as attempted murder. The incident occurs after a period of relative calm in Jordbro and Haninge – over the past year no gunshot injuries were reported in the district.
Haninge municipality has published support information on its website for those affected by the shooting.
