On Friday morning, shortly before nine o'clock, a tragic accident occurred at a construction site in Žirovnica. A forty-year-old man, more precisely a 38-year-old male, slipped whilst working on the building and was injured in the fall into the lower section.

Rescuers from the Jesenice unit arrived at the scene quickly and provided first aid to the seriously injured worker. Given the severity of the injuries, they decided to transport him by air. A military helicopter transported him to the main hospital in Ljubljana. Firefighters assisted in preparing a safe landing site for the helicopter.

The Jesenice police station conducted an inspection of the scene and is gathering information about all the circumstances. In addition to the regular investigation into the causes of the accident, which is being conducted by a labour inspector who personally visited the site, Kranj police are treating the case as a possible breach of the law on labour relations and social security.

All investigation results will be forwarded to the prosecutor's office for further assessment.
