Theft at Bled: perpetrator takes wallet from tourist's rucksack
Bled police were notified on Saturday at around 5 pm of a daring theft at Lake Bled, according to 24ur.com. The perpetrator approached a foreign tourist and took a wallet containing approximately €200 in cash from her rucksack.
Police are gathering information about the incident and will inform the competent state prosecutor's office of their findings, the Kranj Police Directorate said.
Organised groups with pre-planned tricks
Police are warning again at the beginning of the tourist season about pickpockets operating worldwide. These are often organised groups trained in various tricks with which they confuse their victims. Their targets are mainly cash, payment cards and other documents, less frequently jewellery, watches or other valuables that the victim has with them.
Pickpockets exploit crowding and close contact with victims to steal unnoticed. The perpetrators rely on the element of surprise and speed, as this makes it easier to exploit the victim's inattention, police warned.

According to police, we are protected from pickpockets only by constant attention to the objects we carry with us. The Kranj Police Directorate urges visitors to tourist areas to be especially careful in crowded places.
