A woman in her 30s is in serious hospital condition after a fall from a first-floor balcony in Belmayne, Dublin 13. A man in his 20s was arrested the following day.

A man in his 20s has been arrested in connection with a serious assault investigation after a woman was found critically injured outside an apartment block on Main Street, Belmayne, Dublin 13, the Irish Independent reports.
The incident occurred shortly after 3:40pm on Monday, 28 September 2026. The woman, aged in her 30s, was discovered on the ground below a first-floor apartment at the Belmayne complex. Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene, and the woman was taken to Beaumont Hospital with serious injuries.
Investigators are examining whether the woman was pushed from a balcony. It is understood she was among several people inside the apartment when an alleged altercation broke out prior to the fall.
A Garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí continue to investigate an alleged incident of serious assault, which occurred near Main Street, Belmayne, Dublin 13 on Monday 28th September 2026."
A technical examination of the scene was carried out on Monday. Gardaí also appointed a Family Liaison Officer to the woman's family and issued an appeal for witnesses.
The man was arrested on Tuesday, 29 September 2026. He is being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at a Garda station in the Dublin area. Investigations are ongoing.
