A man has been charged with capital murder following a domestic-related homicide at an Athens, Alabama apartment complex, waff.com reports.

Officers arrived at the Fifth Avenue Apartments at around 1:00 a.m. and found 44-year-old Michelle Lee Turner dead in her bedroom, according to the Athens Police Department.

Investigators identified Turner's ex-boyfriend, Calvin Troupe, 47, as the suspect. Authorities located Troupe in nearby Decatur shortly after the incident and transported him back to Athens for questioning.

Troupe was subsequently charged with capital murder and transferred to the custody of the Limestone County Sheriff's Office.

The Decatur Police Department and the Limestone County Sheriff's Office assisted Athens police in the investigation. Police indicated that no further details would be released at this time.
