Smyrna murder suspect denied bond after dismembered body found in plastic tub

An 18-year-old man charged with fatally shooting and dismembering a woman in Smyrna, Georgia, was denied bond at a court hearing on Friday, Atlanta News First reports.

Kingston Bradley faces charges of malice murder and concealing the death of another. Friday's hearing was a probable cause proceeding, during which a judge assessed whether sufficient evidence exists to advance the case to trial.

On September 23, Smyrna police responded to Park Valley Apartments after a witness reported seeing Bradley carrying a plastic tub through an open area. Bradley allegedly dropped the container when he noticed the witness and fled into a nearby apartment.

Investigators found a dismembered human torso inside the tub. A blood-covered saw was recovered from inside Bradley's apartment. Additional body parts were later discovered in the trunk of a car.

The victim has been identified as Shanteria Mosley. The nature of the relationship between Mosley and Bradley remains under investigation, officials said.

An autopsy confirmed that Mosley had also been shot in the head.

Mosley's family was present at Friday's hearing as investigators detailed their findings. The case is now set to proceed to a jury trial.
