Three men were stabbed near the corner of Delancey Street and Bowery on the Lower East Side of Manhattan at approximately 1:13 a.m. on Wednesday, according to abc7ny.com.

Police say the suspect approached a 26-year-old man and began arguing with him over food before stabbing him in the stomach. A witness told officers the confrontation had started inside a nearby grocery store, where the suspect had asked for food or money.

Two other men, believed to be friends of the 26-year-old, attempted to intervene. Both were stabbed in the process — a 21-year-old was struck in the left shoulder and a 19-year-old in the left arm.

All three victims were transported to Bellevue Hospital and are listed in stable condition.

The suspect fled westbound on Delancey Street and remains at large. He is described as a man with dreadlocks, dressed entirely in black and wearing a top hat. No arrests have been made and the weapon has not been recovered.
