Witness invokes Fifth Amendment at Yella Beezy murder trial in Dallas

Court proceedings entered a fourth day on Friday in the capital murder trial of Dallas rapper Markies Conway, known professionally as Yella Beezy, according to nbcdfw.com. Conway is accused of orchestrating the 2020 killing of fellow Dallas rapper MO3, whose legal name was Melvin Noble, in an alleged murder-for-hire scheme.

A witness invoked the Fifth Amendment during Friday's session, adding a significant development to testimony that had already stretched across three days.

During earlier proceedings, witnesses described a chaotic exchange of gunfire on a Dallas freeway as prosecutors laid out their case. Conway has pleaded not guilty to capital murder.

Prosecutors allege that Conway hired Kewon White to carry out the killing of Noble, following a feud between the two rappers that reportedly began in 2017. White was separately convicted of capital murder in September and sentenced to life in prison.

The trial continues as the prosecution works through its case against Conway.
