Arrested in Rawson for riding stolen motorcycle and insulting police officers
A 22-year-old man was arrested in Rawson after being caught performing dangerous manoeuvres aboard a motorcycle with an active theft report, according to canal13sanjuan.com.
The incident occurred at the intersection of Frías and San Martín streets, whilst officers from the Southern Command were conducting preventative patrols. Upon noticing the motorcyclist's reckless driving, the uniformed officers intercepted him to request his documentation.
The driver, identified by the surname Naveda, reacted violently: he began shouting and insulting police personnel, which prompted his arrest on the spot and the immediate seizure of the vehicle.
The situation worsened during a routine search. Upon cross-referencing the motorcycle's details—a Zanella ZTB 110 cc—in the Federal Police Communications System (SIFCOP), officers confirmed that the vehicle had a circulation ban and an active seizure order stemming from a theft report filed at the 28th Police Station.
Naveda was placed at the disposal of the judiciary, which is now investigating his possible involvement in the original theft of the motorcycle.
