Federal Investigation Department operation in Difunta Correa settlement results in arrest
The Argentine Federal Police arrested a 27-year-old woman accused of supplying drugs to inmates at Penal Unit No. 4 in Concepción del Uruguay, lagacetaonline.com.ar reported. The operation was carried out in the Difunta Correa settlement, where a mobile telephone was also seized.
The investigation was led by the Federal Investigation Department (DFI), based on a request from prosecutor María Albertina Chichi of the Public Prosecutor's Office No. 4, who requested the intervention of the Federal Operational Unit Division (DUOF) of Concepción del Uruguay.
Through field work and information analysis, investigators identified a property linked to the suspect. The Public Prosecutor's Office then requested judicial authorisation for the search, which was granted by the Court of Guarantees No. 1, presided over by Judge Alejandrina Herrero.
During the operation, the woman was arrested. The mobile telephone seized will be analysed for relevant information about the entry of drugs into the penitentiary. The detainee was placed at the disposal of the intervening judicial authority, while proceedings continue to clarify the investigated matter.
