Federal Police arrested eight people and froze R$ 10 million in an operation targeting drug and weapons trafficking across two states.

Federal Police carries out eight arrest warrants in operation against cocaine trafficking and illegal weapons sales
The Federal Police launched Operation Krampus Narco on Thursday (29), aimed at dismantling a group suspected of trafficking cocaine between states and illegally trading firearms of restricted use. According to g1.globo.com, eight preventive arrest warrants and eight search and seizure warrants were executed in Bahia and São Paulo.
The operations took place in Salvador and Amélia Rodrigues, in the state of Bahia, and in the São Paulo cities of São Paulo, Guarujá and Santo André. The courts also ordered the freezing of assets and funds belonging to those under investigation up to a limit of R$ 10 million, in addition to the suspension of business activities of 13 companies linked to the group.
The operation was conducted jointly with the Integrated Special Correctional Force (Force), of the Public Security Secretariat of Bahia (SSP-BA), and with the Special Action Group to Combat Organised Crime of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Bahia (Gaeco).
Investigation stemmed from another operation
According to the Federal Police, the case is an offshoot of Operation Krampus, launched in 2025 against a criminal organisation specialised in crimes against financial institutions. During that investigation, officers identified that one of the targets was also coordinating the transport of narcotics and illegal weapons trading.
Investigations also indicate that funds obtained from criminal activities circulated through bank accounts of third parties and shell companies, in what may be a money-laundering scheme. Investigations are ongoing to identify other individuals involved and track the financial movements resulting from the crimes.
