The Office of the Attorney General filed formal charges against Elder José Arteaga, alias "Chipi", for his alleged involvement in a homicide connected to micro-trafficking of drugs in Bogotá.
According to El Tiempo, the defendant was presented before a judge of guarantee control to answer for the offences of aggravated homicide and conspiracy to commit a crime.
The case falls within investigations carried out by the prosecution agency against networks for the distribution of narcotic drugs on a small scale operating in various districts of the country's capital. The charge states that Arteaga allegedly participated directly in the killing as part of the illicit activities of the organisation to which he allegedly belongs.
Judicial authorities continue with the development of the proceedings in its oral trial stage, where it is expected that the criminal responsibility of the defendant will be established in the facts attributed to him.
