An attack on a Police station in the El Muro area, in the municipality of Calima El Darién, Valle del Cauca, left two uniformed officers from the Special Operations Group (Goes) dead and two others wounded.
The incident occurred in the evening of Wednesday, 24 June in the rural area of the municipality, located in the north-western part of the Valle del Cauca department. Authorities reported that the attackers launched explosive devices against the police facility.
The attack was condemned by various sectors. The governor of Valle del Cauca, Dilian Francisca Toro, expressed her rejection of the incident and stated that violence has no place in the region. "I reject the killing of two police officers in Valle," the official said.
The El Muro area has been the scene of harassment and attacks against the security forces in recent months. Authorities are conducting operations to identify those responsible for the attack.
