A lifeless body was discovered hidden in a suitcase inside a building located in the northern zone of the Colombian capital. The grim discovery was reported on Monday 22 June, near midday, in the Chapinero locality, at the address calle 95 with carrera 21.

According to spokespersons for the Office of the Attorney General of the Nation, the building where the events occurred operated as temporary accommodation. The body was located in a room on the seventh floor of the building, situated at calle 95 #21-80, in the Chicó Norte sector.

Officers from the Technical Investigation Corps (CTI) travelled to the scene to carry out inspection of the corpse and gather evidence. Bogotá's Metropolitan Police stated that forensic experts are working to reconstruct the sequence of events that led to this death.

Information available to investigators indicates that the victim would have entered the apartment in the company of another person before the discovery. This detail is still being corroborated within the investigative process.

For now, neither the identity of the deceased nor information about possible perpetrators has been officially disclosed. The investigation continues in order to determine exactly what occurred in that apartment.
