A foreign national known as alias "Peluca" was taken into police custody in the San Felipe sector of Ipiales, Nariño, after being accused of the unlawful use and carrying of a revolver.
The incident occurred while uniformed officers were conducting surveillance operations in the area and heard a gunshot. Upon arriving at the scene, the officers found several residents who had already subdued the foreigner, who was showing obvious signs of agitation. The police intervened to protect the individual and restore order.
During the operation, a short-barrelled .38 calibre firearm was seized, along with five rounds of ammunition and a spent casing. These items were handed over to the competent authorities as evidence for the proceedings.
The arrested man bore injuries resulting from the actions of local residents, and was immediately transferred to a clinic for medical treatment. Afterwards, the authorities delivered him to a judge, who will determine his legal status.
