A 45-year-old man was detained by authorities as the suspected perpetrator of the homicide of his own brother in the Northern district of Fusagasugá. The body was found in plastic bags inside a waste container.

Authorities executed a court order to detain a 45-year-old individual who is being investigated for the murder of his own brother, which occurred on 7 July in the Northern zone of Fusagasugá, Cundinamarca.
The operation was carried out just 16 hours after the crime, thanks to inquiries that made it possible to identify the suspect. According to investigators, the incident allegedly took place within the home of the accused, who subsequently allegedly wrapped the corpse in blue plastic bags and deposited it in a waste container.
During the home search, forensic experts used various reagents that revealed traces of biological fluids that the detainee allegedly attempted to erase in order to destroy evidence. In addition, a metal rod and a bladed weapon were found in the property, objects which, according to the investigation, could have been used to cause death.
The arrested man was brought before a guarantees control judge, before whom the Office of the Attorney General of the Nation brought charges for aggravated homicide concurrent with tampering with material evidence. The magistrate ordered deprivation of liberty in a penitentiary facility as a preventive measure.
